The International Istanbul Furniture Fair (IIFF) stands as an important meeting point where diverse perspectives, production approaches, and design philosophies come together. For Coastal Homes, IIFF 2026 offered the opportunity to present the brand’s design language, material sensitivity, and spatial approach on an international scale.

This year, our focus was less about saying something new and more about how we expressed it, how we shaped the space, and what kind of feeling we created for visitors. Rather than designing a stand where products were displayed individually, we approached the space as a cohesive living environment.

Not Just a Stand, but a Living Space

Our main objective in designing the stand was not to capture attention instantly, but to create an atmosphere where visitors would want to spend time. Rugs, curtains, lighting, and accessories were carefully selected to complement the furniture without overpowering it.

This approach directly shaped the overall perception of the stand. Visitors did not simply observe; they sat down, touched the surfaces, examined the details, and engaged in conversation. The stand became a space to pause and explore rather than a point to pass by.

One of the most common reactions we heard throughout the fair was simple yet telling:
“Oh… wood.”

In a fair dominated by modern and industrial designs, the immediate recognition of natural wood highlighted how clearly Coastal Homes’ material choice was perceived.

Natural Materials as a Conscious Choice

Throughout the stand, wood was not treated merely as an aesthetic element but as a core structural component of the design. Solid surfaces, natural textures, and matte finishes came together with fabrics, rugs, and lighting to create a balanced composition.

This balance gave the space a calm yet confident character. Instead of bold statements, the focus was on proportions and surfaces that revealed themselves over time. For Coastal Homes, design is less about creating an immediate impact and more about establishing an environment meant to be lived in for years.

Throughout IIFF 2026, we welcomed architects, interior designers, project teams, international partners, dealers, and retail customers. While the visitor profile was diverse, the conversations often revolved around similar expectations.

Long term use over quick solutions, timeless design over temporary trends, and flexible, customizable production over standard offerings were recurring themes.

In this context, Coastal Homes’ production philosophy and commitment to natural materials served as a common reference point for visitors from different backgrounds.
